26th Annual Dermott Crawfish Festival - May 15 & 16, 2009 |
The 26th Annual Dermott Crawfish Festival will be
held on Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16th, 2009, in downtown
Dermott, Arkansas. One of Arkansas’ most successful festivals,
the award winning Dermott Crawfish Festival, a food and music
festival, is sponsored by the Dermott Chamber of Commerce. Don’t
miss the live music, crawfish dinners, official crawfish
t-shirts, arts, crafts and food vendors and free train and fire
truck rides for the kids on Saturday.
Thursday night, May 14, is children’s night at the carnival
provided by All America Amusements. With the purchase of a
$10.00 arm band, children can ride from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on
all rides. Arm bands may be purchased in advance at the Dermott
Public schools or the Chamber office First Service Bank and
Simmons Bank.
Other scheduled events include the Rotary pancake breakfast on
Saturday morning at the Dermott Methodist Church serving from
7:00AM until 10:00AM. NEW, beginning this year the
Dermott Rotary Club will be sponsoring , Thunder in the Delta
a motorcycle poker run. Have motorcycle will travel ..to the
designated destinations on the poker map. Once there, the
entrant will pick up a playing card. They will draw a card at
each destination. The top three winning hands will share the

Make plans to enter this year’s Dog Show. Sign up Friday
afternoon May 15, beginning at 4:30 PM at the Chamber office.
The judging is scheduled for 9:00 am Saturday morning, May 16.
Entertainment begins on Friday with a remote by Lorenzo Giles
and Melvin Crockett, with gospel groups and a youth talent show
scheduled for Saturday. The featured band on Friday night is the
Cummins Prison Band. Of special interest to the younger crowd,
the TSE BAND out of Little Rock will be performing on Saturday
night.
As in the past, vendors will be plentiful again this year,
serving up food and interesting and exotic merchandise. The
Chamber will begin serving Crawfish Dinners at noon on Friday
and crawfish will be available ‘til closing time of “sold out”
on Saturday night.
Booth spaces may be rented up to the day of the festival, so be
sure that one is reserved for you and make plans now to attend
the Dermott Crawfish Festival on May 15 and 16, 2009
